007 Returns

We all remember the controversy surrounding Daniel Craig taking on the role of James Bond 007 in 2006. However, when Casino Royale released it ended up being a pretty superb sequel to the legendary series. That being said though, this isn’t the end to Bond is it? Yeah right….as if. So what does MI6 have in store for us? Are they keeping Craig as our favorite techno gadget babe magnet? Why don’t we take a stroll through headquarters and take a peek at what’s to come?Personally, I have to say that Daniel Craig did a phenomenal job portraying the James Bond we all know and love. I was among many other skeptics when it came to questioning his ability to live up to the name, and we were not disappointed. Therefore, I’m proud to report that Craig will be bringing us more martini lines, explosions, and of course beautiful women in the near future. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he’s been signed to a grand total of five (including Casino Royale) Bond flicks. Filming for Bond 22 is set to commence in January of 2008 and if all goes well it will be released on November 7th 2008.

That’s GREAT news right? More 007 woo! Yeah well, we’ve already got a slight snag….it would seem that contracts for the writers involved are up come Halloween night. What does that generally mean you ask? Generally…nothing short of a strike and strikes mean delays. Should a strike go down here, it’s a possibility that we’ll see an interruption in work from Paul Haggis who is writing the shooting script for Bond 22. Though amongst Big Studio politics and a seemingly misunderstood anti-union feeling, MGM Chairman and CEO Harry Sloan is confident that there will not be a strike and the production timeline will stay intact.

That’s it for now folks. Keep the channels open and stay tuned for more news to come!
