Although the game hasn’t hit the shelves yet, word of the downloadable content for Rock Band (Xbox 360 version) has begun to trickle out. The newest Official Xbox Magazine listed a number of song packs that would be available via the Xbox Live Marketplace following the games debut on November 20th (North America Only). The date for the DLC hitting the marketplace has yet to be revealed, but here’s a run down of the packages and titles announced so far:
Police Pack:
Roxanne, Synchronicity II, Can’t Stand Losing You
Queens Of The Stone Age Pack:
3s and 7s, Sick Sick Sick, Little Sister
Metallic Pack:
Either three or six songs, as yet unannounced.
Black Sabbath Pack:
N.I.B., Sweet Leaf, War Pigs (all covers)
David Bowie Pack:
Moonage Dream, Heroes, Queen Bitch
Punk Pack:
The Buzzcocks – Ever Fall In Love (cover)
The Clash – I Fought The Law
The Ramones – Rockaway Beach
Single Songs:
Credence Clearwater Revival – Fortunate Son
Foreigner – Jukebox Hero
The Knack – My Sharona
The Runaways – Cherry Bomb
T-Rex – Bang a Gong
Wolfmother – Joker and the Thief
Pretenders – Brass in a Pocket
Radiohead – My Iron Lung
Weezer – Buddy Holly
One plus for gamers is that these songs do not have to be downloaded in packs, as was the case with Guitar Hero. If you just want a single song out of a pack, you only have to pay for that tune that you desire.
That’s quite the array of rockable tunes. The only question that pops into my head is how much these packs are going to run your average rock star. This is of course on top of the already known full album download capability of The Who’s “Who’s Next†and the much rumored Nirvana’s “Nevermindâ€. I suspect we’ll have a lot of cash-poor gamers this winter.

Actually played the demo for this game yesterday in Best Buy…pretty impressive. I played the drums to check it out and my hubby played the guitar and a couple kids sang and played the other guitar so we were pretty much jammin’. I was impressed with the game, however not too much with the drums. I thought it has a bass pedal since that’s what I saw online on some screen shots I’ve seen. But either the Best Buy drum pads didn’t have any or the drum pads doesnt have one which sucks! The entire time I was playing it, I was tapping my feet to pretend there was a bass pedal to make it a bit realistic. One of the guys were asking why I kept tapping my right foot, I told him I’m a drummer and not used to not having a bass pedal.
