SOCOM 4: Confrontation, the newest game in one of the most popular multiplayer series that ever hit Playstation is preparing to launch their new title on Sony’s third console sometime in 2008. Zipper, the original developer of the SOCOM game series will be not be handling the game; Slant Six the same people who did SOCOM: Tactical Strike on the PSP took over the reign.
The game play and footage will be very similar to the existing SOCOM games, with the exception of higher graphics fidelity. One thing’s for certain, Confrontation’s graphics looks extremely clean and edges are razor-sharp, the outcome…a much neater presentation than what we’ve been used to on the Playstation 2.
One surprising fact is that Confrontation will not have a single player mode, but it will be an online-only title. This game will be available as a downloadable game as well as on a Blu-ray disc format for in-store purchase. Content packs will be available for download via PS3 store and will be available after the game’s release. This package will contain: weapons, maps, characters etc.
Another interesting feature would be the ability to customize the look of your character from head to toe. Clan leaders can set up a standard uniform for their own clan while members can still customize their characters that would stand out while still staying in “uniformâ€.
